Robinson Design Ltd
This is a powerful and forward thinking Group made up from the various disciplines to cover Architects, Engineers, Geo-Engineers, Interior Designers, Landscape Designers, 3d and with a JV in China. Their brief was to ensure their brand and company ethos became well known within the Yorkshire area and The Northern Way.
JCA negotiated the first ever sponsorship in the Yorkshire Post of the Commercial Property section which is printed every Thursday, within The Business. We also succeeded in getting the paper to change the cumbersome “Area Focus” page to one carrying more general features.
The sponsorship not only included a logo heading up the Commercial Property pages, but a 600 word editorial, plus an image, to run every other week throughout the year. This, at a very realistic and cost effective outlay.
Having this as a key platform for the company, it has resulted in a very real uplift in both recognition and work being directed to the Group, and [at the JCA way of evaluation, which at rate card rate] over £ 98,500.00 worth of extremely valuable coverage.
This process also threw up newsworthy stories which have been repackaged and “sold” into trade and other publications ie The Guardian, New Civil Engineering, Manchester Evening News, Business Insider, School Buildings and In Design.
Hoopers Department Store Group
JCA were asked to promote the Group’s new store to both the Carlisle locale and to the trade, and to ensure the Store Manager’s profile was established.
From a standing start in Autumn of 2006, JCA has achieved over £60,000 worth of coverage, with major features in the local papers, and in the optimum trade publications.
Hoopers has had 4 double page spreads, 2 one page spreads and a significant feature in the business section. This in particular directly let to Victoria Farley, the General Manager, being asked to join the Renaissance of Carlisle committee, a decisive feather in their cap.
Following the innovative programme “Cumbrian Catwalk Challenge” to find a model from the local area, and the first ever Heavenly Fashion, a catwalk show in the Cathedral, JCA secured live TV for both ITV and BBC TV, BBC Radio Cumbria and extensive coverage in the local newspapers and trace magazines.
Also, crucially, we secured positive coverage in the top 3 trade publications. This was essential as various top brands were not falling over themselves to stock in Carlisle, which some of the Southern cosmetic and fragrance brands saw as a backwater. They have now realised Hoopers worth, and top brands are now stocked.
It is estimated the coverage value to date is approaching £70,000.
Thomas Green Ltd. - Franchisers of British Supermarkets abroad
Based in Yorkshire Thomas Green’s British grocery franchise supply a growing number of expats with the food brands they miss from home through small shops across Europe. The business had scope and ambition for expansion and the directors felt focussed PR and brand management expertise would help them to reach their business goals.
The approach was two pronged as the PR would be aimed at raising the profile of the business opportunity for expats looking to start a business as well as targeting potential customers in the locality of the planned shops.
JCAsecured media coverage in target trade publications, The Grocer, Checkout and Talking Retail, highlighting the quirky success of haggis sales in the shops in The Netherlands, Spain and France.
